4-3. Management of MUSTIG windows
4-3-1. Preventing all the output windows to open at the same time
When MUSTIG is run, the Library window opens first. The Library is necessary to read the MUSTIG graphs built from it. If the Library is not found (see Environment variables) a window named Modules opens : it contains all the modules that are normally in the Library, but these are displayed in bulk.
When carrying out a series of simulations with MUSTIG, several windows may be opened simultaneously. As a matter of fact, when a calculation is asked, all the windows depending on the modules to calculate and containing final modules, are automatically opened.
MAC users :
You may change the look of the boxes in the MUSTIG windows by changing the "Characters" and "Colors" options.
4-3-1. Preventing all the output windows to open at the same time
If you right-click is the mother window of your program, all the windows containing final modules will automatically be opened and calculated (see Launching a simulation). If your program is big or has many display macros, then your screen will fill up with a huge number of windows, that you may not be interested in.
To prevent this, you may want to validate the Do not calculate the whole main graph check box in the Edit / Options menu. Is this option is checked, you will still we able to execute an individual module, or a group of modules gathered within a box, but you will not be able to execute the main window.
For smaller programs however, it may be interesting to launch all the calculations at the same time.
4-3-2. Setting the size of the new windows
The Edit / Options / Windows menu allows to set the size and the position of the new windows opened with MUSTIG.
4-3-3. Adding / removing scroll bars
Scroll bars allow to use windows larger than the size of your screen. Only a part of the window is visible at a time : the horizontal and vertical scroll bars control which part is visible.
You may add scroll bars to a window, or remove existing scroll bars by choosing the Scroll bars or not command in the Tools menu. The only exception is the Image windows (see Image windows) : their scroll bars cannot be removed.
Reminder : when a scalar input or output module (Value and ?????? modules respectively) is selected and compacted into a macro using for example the Alt+M shortcut, the inside of the obtained macro automatically becomes an input or output window with scroll bars. The maximum size of this window is the size of the original module, and the visible part is controlled by the scroll bars.
4-3-4. Resizing windows or modules with scroll bars
The size of the visible part of the window can be adjusted using the resize check box of the window, or one of its corners, or its borders.
The size of the window itself, that is, its maximum size, can be changed by moving the scroll bars to the lower right corner for example, and putting the mouse cursor on the corner of the MODULE just up and left from the scroll bars (not on the thick corner of the window) : the mouse cursor becomes :
Just click and resize the module as usual (see Resizing a box).
The Document menu on the top bar displays the name of all the opened MUSTIG graphs and all the opened windows. The name of the current graph and window is checked.
You may select a graph or a window just by clicking on its name in the list.
4-3-6. Closing several windows at a time
The Windows / Close all … commands allow to close all the windows of the selected graph or macro.
4-3-7. Selecting windows that open at load time
All the windows opened when a graph is saved will automatically open when the graph is re-read.
If you want a given window not to open when your graph is loaded from the disk, close it, move or resize something in the graph so that the program can be saved again, and save it again using for example the Alt+S shortcut. (Act the same if you want a given window to open each time the graph is loaded).
